Robert and Jenieve are full time music ministers and are affectionately known as the ”Sweethearts of Jamaica gospel music.” Robert grew up singing in church circles in his home town. His breakthrough came in 1987 when he topped the Jamaican Youth for Christ DISCOVERY competition as best male vocalist. Jenieve is the daughter of renowned Toots Hibbert of TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS. They toured extensively promoting their ministry and have produced eight albums.

The life and love of Christ and his ministry to her heart is the main theme of Petula’s outreach in song to God’s people. This vessel has been filled and is ready to pour out the blessings God has granted unto her with the rest of the world. Her main desire is to allow Christ to minister to others as he has ministered to her through her abilities and spiritual gift of song and making gospel music. With influences from some of the world’s finest, such as Jill Scott, CeCe Winans, Nat King Cole, Yolanda Adams, and Babbie Mason, Petula wishes to touch hearts and bless souls through her own personal and lyrical testimonies.

One Voice was started in 2001 by Andell Haughton, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, at the then Mico Teacher’s College in the kingston Jamaica. The ministry has grown significantly since its inception with new talents and greater commitment to spread the gospel around the world primarily through music. Onevoice has ministered extensively throughout the island of Jamaica and in 2009, the ministry headlined two overseas concerts. The first, was held in Boston Massachusetts USA and the second took place in Ajax Canada. Presently, the ministry is working on its first album and has been receiving rave reviews for two singles from their upcoming album. The album is due early 2010.

LYNC (Living Your Name Christ), is a sextet acappella Gospel group striving to be philanthropists in their community and known for their fresh, smooth jazz, and soulful sound. These 6 young men are breaking new ground as they advance the cause of Christ through the utilization of their voices and cultural diversity to bring a unique sound to their listeners. The band is comprised of Shawn Spencer (1st Tenor), Derique Smith (1st Tenor), Andre Haughton (2nd Tenor), Joseph London (2nd Tenor), Sean Barrow (Baritone) and Charles Mairs (Bass). One of their milestone achievements was winning the 2007 Canadian Maja Awards that was hosted by Dr. Bobby Jones of BET.

BLQ, The Breath of Life Quartet is an internationally known group, which has been involved in music ministry for over 30 years. The group originated as a part of the Breath of Life Telecast and has appeared in concerts across the United States and Canada, Europe, Africa, Australia & New Zealand, and the South Pacific. BLQ’s CD releases, Brand New and Come By Here, have reached thousands around the world over the years with a mix of contemporary and traditional songs, as well as original compositions by group members. BLQ is working on their latest project whic is due for release in 2010. This track, “In This Place” is taken from the album.

Carey Sayles is a 26 year old Gospel singer and a member of the Trench Town Seventh-day Adventist. He recently finish his debut album, “The Father Loves Me”, which is a dream come through. It’s a compilation of 10 tracks with a mixture of covers and originals. He duets with his fiancé on the track “Wonderful Merciful Saviour.” Light FM has been featuring “The Father Loves Me” and “Through the Fire” as part of our rotation.

Philadelphia native, John Stoddart, is unquestionably one of the music industry’s most notable young talents. An accomplished artist, composer, writer, composer and instrumentalist, John began formal training at the age of 13 and, in 1993, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Piano and Voice from Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, Maryland. His singing/producing/arranging/writing credits already include Celine Dion, Wintley Phipps, Sandi Patty, Boney James, Al Jarreau, Darin Atwater and the Soulful Symphony, Will Downing, Take 6, and Patti Austin, to name a few. His production collaborations with saxophonist Kirk Whalum, “Hymns, In the Garden” and “The Christmas Message” (Top Drawer/Warner Bros.) both garnered Grammy nominations for “Best Pop Instrumental Performance”.

Imanii is predominantly a spiritual/ reggae group out of Jamaica. The word IMANII is Swahili, and means ‘hope’. The group has maintained a focus of bringing out the sentiment of ‘hope’ through the gospel/spiritual messages in their songs. Songwriter and lead singer Roan T. Chuck Arrington was surrounded by the likes of Take 6, Angela Brown, Chris Willis, Sharon Riley, Brian McKnight and a host of other tremendously anointed musicians but, he never opened his mouth to sing on his own, why, you ask? It’s very simple…He Could Not Sing! It was not until his matriculation at Oakwood had come to an end that he started to use his voice for something directly appointed by God. “My Sole Desire,” co-written by Reginald and Shelton, will be impossible to listen to just once. 7th Element’s slogan, “It’s all about the 7th Element” says it all. These six men have accomplished much in their own right, but it’s the Seventh Element, the “Unseen” One, who is the focal point of the group. 7th Element consists of four brothers, Curt, Darren, Garth, and Kevin, and two long-time friends, David “Dee” Glover and Marc Dwyer. Since the group’s inception in April 1999, the group has accepted a two-part mission: one, to bring a message of truth to the world through music by creating a smooth inspirational sound with a unique mixture of rich harmonies that draw universal appeal and; second, to counterbalance negative influences in the media with a clear and positive message.
